Overview

ChartCraft is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle data when you use our chart creation service.

Data Collection

We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data or chart data to our servers.

All data you enter into ChartCraft (chart data, customization settings, etc.) is stored locally in your web browser using IndexedDB. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share it via URL or export it as an image.

Local Storage (Browser-Only)

We use IndexedDB (a browser storage technology) to save your chart history locally on your device. This allows you to:

  • Access previously created charts
  • Continue editing charts across browser sessions
  • Restore your work if you accidentally close the page

Important: Your chart history is stored only in your browser. If you clear your browser data or use a different device, your history will not be available. We have no access to this data.

Analytics

We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. This analytics service:

  • Collects anonymous usage statistics (page views, referrers, device types)
  • Does not track individual users
  • Does not use cookies
  • Does not collect personal information

Learn more about Ahrefs Analytics: https://ahrefs.com/privacy

Share URLs

When you click "Share" on a chart, we generate a URL that encodes your chart data in the URL itself. This allows you to share your exact chart configuration with others.

Important: Share URLs contain your chart data. Anyone with the URL can view your chart. Do not share URLs containing sensitive information.

Third-Party Services

ChartCraft does not integrate with third-party services that collect user data, except for:

  • Ahrefs Web Analytics (for anonymous usage statistics)
  • Vercel (our hosting provider, which may collect standard web server logs)

Data Security

Since your data never leaves your browser, you maintain complete control over it. We recommend:

  • Regularly exporting important charts as images
  • Not entering sensitive information into charts you plan to share
  • Using the export/import feature to backup your history

Children's Privacy

ChartCraft does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Since we don't collect personal data at all, our service can be safely used by students of any age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top indicates when the policy was last revised.
